Chief Technology Officer and co-founder CytoCares, Bioteck Ltd. Inc.
Dr. Sun received his BS in Biological Science and PhD in Developmental Biology and Genetics from Fudan University. He completed his postdoctoral training in The Scripps Research Institute studying pathogenesis of inflammatory bowel disease. From 2011 – 2017 he was an instructor at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas, working with Nobel Laureate Dr. Bruce Beutler on Mutagentix program, the biggest mouse forward genetics study in the world. Dr. Sun’s researches in Scripps and UTSW quite built up his career, where he focused on large-scale genetic screen and genome-wide analysis of regulatory mechanisms of host defense and immune response to pathogenesis. More than 10000 genes were analyzed on their potential influences on both innate and adaptive immunity covering phagocytosis, antigen presentation and B/T cell development, etc. Such extensive analysis disclosed an unprecedented and sophisticated interactional network from neurology to metabolism to immunology, and eventually drove him to investigate how to motivate our immune system to contain diseases, where the story of CytoCares came.
